Dental Insurance and Payment Options
Financial Policy
Welcome to our practice. We are doing everything possible to hold down the cost of medical/dental care. You can help a great deal by eliminating the need for us to bill you. The following is a summary of our payment policy.
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Care Credit. If you have insurance, we will file it as a courtesy to you. If you have a procedure performed, we will estimate your portion to pay and file your claim. Any remaining balance after insurance pays will be the patient’s or guarantor’s responsibility.
Currently, we are only in network with Delta Dental. We will file other insurance carriers, but we are considered out of network. We do not participate with Medicare or Medicaid. We also cannot file any dental policies facilitated by Medicare.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, if your insurance company requires that medical be filed before dental, it is your responsibility to pay the balance in full at the time of service. We will note on your claim for the dental insurance carrier to pay you directly.
BLUE CROSS/BLUE SHIELD INSURED PATIENTS:
We are currently out of network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance. We are able to file your claim for you, but you must pay in full on the day of your procedure. Blue Cross will reimburse you directly.
MEDICARE:
Please notify a staff member if you have Medicare. Dr. Murray is currently under an opt out contract with Medicare. Medicare does not provide benefits for tooth extractions. You must sign a contract that states you agree to be treated in this office for Medicare purposes. You cannot file a Medicare claim on your own.
Refunds remaining on accounts are written 30-45 days after receiving insurance payment.
Balances not paid or arrangements not made within 45 days are turned over to a billing service and subject to additional fees. We realize that people experience financial difficulties and if your insurance doesn’t pay the remaining balance on the claim after your procedure is performed, please call our office and discuss it with us. We will help you in any way that we can. You can reach our billing staff at 252-355-1173.
Any balances on your account must be paid before you are treated by this office in the future.
